The Mindful Artist’s Way Workshop (ENG/PL) – September – Sign in

Welcome to the first Artist’s Way Workshop in Wrocław facilitated in English – all and everyone interested in mindful creativity process is welcome here ! We are starting in September 2019 !
This is also an invitation to build a Multicultural Creative Community in our city, that will be supporting people in many aspects of personal development, spiritual paths, creativity potential and mindful conscious living.
The workshop itself is based on a book by Julia Cameron,The Artist’s Way – a Spiritual Path to Higher Creativity”. This 12-week course in „Discovering and Recovering Your Creative Self” has existed for over 20 years and sparked an international movement of people living their life infused with creativity.
Many find a facilitated workshop helpful in holding themselves accountable to the work and growth that the course asks of them, as the book brings you more into your „issues” than you might expect. The 12-week course requires significant time commitment and energy, but the results are life-changing if you do the work. The exercises and daily and weekly practices will lead you into greater inspiration, integrity and authenticity.
You might expect gentle yet powerful shifts in your life. If you do the work, you will recover buried dreams, learn to break through blocks like procrastination, perfectionism, and self-sabotage, and learn to access your inner wisdom.
You will find yourself identifying what you really want and eliminating from your life that which does not support your growth. You will recover a sense of possibility, a sense of abundance, and much more. You will start taking steps to a more fulfilling, inspired, and authentic life.
Take risks, lighten up and rediscover your creativity within a supportive environment. Based on The Artists Way book by Julia Cameron this course explores and seeks to overcome what blocks the full expression of our creativity and playfulness.
It’s an incredibly effective and liberating process, a personal and collective adventure in transformation and the rediscovery of those things in our lives that bring us the most joy and meaning.
This programme includes both lightness and depth.
The Artist’s Way Workshop is not just for artists. It is for anyone who wants to live a life more fully expressed, more connected to their authentic selves, and more inspired. You do not need to have any „artistic” inclination, experience, or ability to be transformed by this course. You need only readiness, openness, willingness to do the work and commitment to the process.
You will need a copy of the book to attend the course, and to get the most out of your attendance you should set aside extra time during the week for assignments.
In addition to uncovering your creativity potential, you can learn to practice Mindfulness with The Artist’s Way, based on exercises from Julia Cameron’s book as well as guided meditations beginning our weekly meetings and other mindful informal practices, like mindful sharing and mindful listening.
Together, we will learn to take creative risks, loosen up a bit, and to rediscover our innate creativity, within a nurturing and supportive environment. The main goal of this course is to overcome the blocks that stop us from realizing the full expression of our creativity in whatever areas we choose to explore and express it.
Each 2-hour session – based on a chapter from the book – deals with a certain aspect of ‘creative recovery’, guiding participants to become conscious of the habits, creative u-turns and resistences that they might engage in in their daily lives, and that might contribute to a sense of creative ‘blockage’ and frustration. By nominating and becoming conscious of these avoidances, participants can then set about – with a sense of mindful self-compassion – making small changes to their daily and weekly routines; these will yield big results in the long-term.
The topics of our 12 sessions that we will cover follow the chapters in the book ‘The Artist’s Way‘:
• Week 1: Safety
• Week 2: Identity
• Week 3: Power
• Week 4: Integrity
• Week 5: Possibility
• Week 6: Abundance
• Week 7: Connection
• Week 8: Strength
• Week 9: Compassion
• Week 10: Self-Protection
• Week 11: Autonomy
• Week 12: Faith
Through The Artist’s Way you get the steps and tools that will help you:
• Know which of your many ideas to start on first.
• Dissolve the blocks that are keeping you stuck.
• Build your self-esteem and self-confidence.
• Connect with a new sense of possibility for your “unrealistic” dreams and creative projects.
• Clear out beliefs that have been sabotaging the flow of money and abundance in your life.
• Build a stronger connection to your intuitive guidance.
• Have the confidence to execute concrete creative plans.
• Maintain momentum and stay on track, even after the course has finished.
• Build trust in Life, and in yourself.
The touchstones of The Artist’s Way are the ‘Morning Pages’ (a type of meditative exercise through writing) and ‘The Artist’s Date’ (where the inner child of each artist is treated to an outing or engaged in an activity that gives it nothing but joy!). We will use some time for sharing and approximately an hour of each session to engage in a group creative exercises, exploring the themes covered in the book.
Expect this course to jump-start your creative process, refresh your own thinking around creativity, and introduce you to a supportive creative community. The most important part of it – serving as a background and base for creative processes – is building mindful, compassionate, respectful and loving relationships within our multinational and multicultural community.
“In walking your artist’s way, my deepest wish for you is the company of fellow lights and the generosity to light each other’s ways as we each pass temporarily into darkness….success occurs in clusters and is born in generosity. Let us form constellations of believing mirrors and move into our powers.” –Julia Cameron
